Finally, a Tenant for Triangle Square: A Music Festival


Costa Mesa's Sutra nightclub is one of the few establishments remaining in the prominently placed mall-turned-wasteland Triangle Square, and while we rarely think of Sutra as being a proper concert joint, it has wracked up some impressive music-venue cred: The past year has seen it host Lil Jon, the Crystal Method and LMFAO.

So it makes some sense that Triangle Square is giving itself over to a music festival for an entire two days, and that part of the festival will be hosted at Sutra. And the lineup isn't too shabby.

Sept. 4 and 5 will bring the vaguely named Pacific Festival: OC to Triangle Square. Saturday's lineup includes hipster DJ icon Steve Aoki, Swedish popsters the Sounds and inventive, buzzed-about hip hoppers Chiddy Bang (recently spotlighted in the Weekly here).

Aoki himself, a Newport Beach native, is among the brains behind the festival. Tickets start at $40, more details here. Line-up from the press release below:

Sunday, September 5 line up: Rebelution, The Expendables, The Aggrolites and surprise guest performances creating a unique outdoor reggae experience.
