Famous People to Save Surfing in Huntington Beach

The “24-hour surfathon” will see civilians, celebrities and professional surfers taking to the sea to compete for who can grab the best wave each hour. The person with the most gnarly swells or whatever (you can this reporter's favorite beach sports are “reading” and “drip castles”) receives a trophy. And it's all put on by Save Our Surf to benefit Surfrider,Heal the Bay and Inside the Outdoors.

Yeah yeah you want to hear about the celebrities. Here's who'll be there in addition to host pro-surfers Shaun Tomson and Peter “PT”  and actress/founder Tanna Frederick:

Sam Trammell (True Blood), Dylan Bruno (Numb3rs), Jesse Spencer (House), Sean Patrick Flanery (Boondock Saints), Chad Lowe (24), Michael Munoz (Amazing Race), Eric Balfour (24), Brandon Boyd (Incubus), Ingo Rademacher (General Hospital), David Chokachi (Beyond the Break), Gregory Harrison (Trapper John, MD), Chris Bruno (Dead Zone) Pat Parnell (Fuel TV's The Daily Habit) and Kathy Zuckerman (Gidget)
Surf luminaries participating include James Pribram, Matt Beacham, Mary Osborne, Angie Reno and Jon Rose (more names to be added.)
