Dog Haus Santa Ana Now Offering Self-Serve Craft Beer

Late last year, when Dog Haus opened their first Orange County location in Main Place Mall, we were informed that there was something cool coming. It took six months for them to follow through on their promise, but it was worth the wait. Public beer dispensers, a.k.a. iPourit!

It goes like this: Give the cashier a dollar amount when you're placing an order, and that amount will be loaded onto a sensor. The sensor is attached to a Dog Haus card. Touch the sensor onto the beer brand you're thirsting for, waiting for a green light to glow. Once that happens, grab the corresponding tap and go for it! If it seems a little too easy, then good. Pouring beer should be a no-brainer.

However, if you still require assistance, each iPourit monitor includes a four-step tutorial to help you dispense the perfect pour. Current brews will be around for about a month before they start rotating in new ones. The powers that be understand a local's love of craft options, and selected their first four wisely. Haus brews include Bootlegger's Old World Hef, Cismontane's The Citizen, Avery Brewing Company's Ellie's Brown Ale and a TAPS Fish House & Brewery's IPA. Suggestions for future offerings are welcome (we already requested Bottle Logic).

This is the first location in the Dog Haus family to install an iPourit system. Expect another system inside their next Haus, opening mid-July near CSU Fullerton. We'll raise a glass to that!

Dog Haus is located at 2800 N Main St, Santa Ana, (714) 953-4287; www.doghaus.com.
