Do As I Say and As I Do

A year ago, thousands congregated at the Anaheim Convention Center in an attempt to set the world record for the largest pillow fight. Alas, the group was slightly shy of setting the record, but a second feat was accomplished instead: the event raised more than $10,000 for local charities. This year, the kids of the Key Club, Kiwanis Club and the Youth Leadership Anaheim are preparing to break another world record: the largest Simon Says competition.

Michael Baker, the executive director of the Anaheim Boys and Girls Club, will be acting as the official “Simon.” In addition to trying to break the world record, the proceeds from this event will go to Corazon de Vida (a foundation in support of orphanages in Baja Mexico), Children of the Dump (assistance for thousands of children and families living in the garbage dump outside of Puerto Vallarta) and Invisible Children (and organization that helps empower kidnapped children in Northern Uganda and document their stories).

The current world record of the largest Simon Says game is 926 people. Pshh, how easy is that to beat?! And considering your lack of talent, this is finally your opportunity to get into the Guinness Book of World Records without having to do something really extraordinary. It's perfect for you!

Simon says don't miss this, or else you'll have to take two steps backwards.

Break Simon at the Heritage Forum, 201 E. Broadway Ave., Anaheim, (714) 240-5984; www.breaksimon.com. Fri., 6 p.m. $5-$10.
