DJs We Can't Wait to See at Coachella: Morgan Page


We caught up with Grammy-nominated producer/DJ Morgan Page last month in Miami at the Winter Music
Conference and Ultra Music Festival, where he was was nominated for two
International Dance Music Award (Best American DJ
and Best Progressive Track for “In the Air” with Sultan +
Ned Shepard & BT featuring Angela McCluskey).
“2011 was just a break through year. We had 35 sold out shows,” explained
Morgan of his “In the Air” tour across America. “I have never seen the
energy like this, especially in these different cities. We played in
Tampa, St Louis, Seattle, and Philadelphia. Places you wouldn't think
are into dance music were just phenomenal,” he said excitedly.

The incredibly successful tour had a plethora of special guests like Tegan and Sara, Sultan + Ned Shepard, Andy Caldwell, and Angela McCluskey. Morgan's single with the same title was his first No. 1 hit on Billboard's Hot dance Airplay chart and remained in the top 10 for 25 amazing weeks.

Morgan Page started his DJ career by producing and working in radio. He was a DJ at the University of Vermont's radio station before he even graduated high school. “I really wanted to see my audience and be able to interact with them,” says Page of his DJ aspirations. “In radio you just sort of imagine your audience, but to be able to meet the fans it's just really cool to connect like that.”

Besides his “In the Air” tour, Morgan gets to interact with his fans at this years Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. He is playing the Sahara tent alongside Porter Robinson, Dada Life, Nero, Calvin Harris and Avicii on Sunday. “[Coachella] was always a favorite especially after seeing Daft Punk play. I'm really excited for this whole two weekend thing,” he says. Which week will be better? “I don't know. Maybe people will be more fresh the first week, but maybe people will be more prepared the second week and have everything dialed in.”

Morgan Page just recently kicked off his residencies at XS Nightclub, Tryst, Surrender and Encore Beach Club in Las Vegas. These award-winning venues will be the place to be once pool season kicks into full gear. His new album In the Air came out April 3 and is already first on the new releases charts on Beatport! “It's got crazy collaborations with Nadia Ali, Tegan and Sera, and Angela McCluskey,” he says.

Page is also keeping busy with his radio show which airs exclusively on Sirius XM's BPM station on Wednesday nights. So if you miss the epic Coachella set, or the radio show he posts them on iTunes for fans to download.
