Cinema Italiano: Saturno Contro

Saturn is definitely in opposition at the Bowers’ Norma Kershaw Auditorium this Sunday—as part of the museum’s Cinema Italiano series, director Ferzan Özpetek’s Saturno Contro will be shown. Life is good for a married couple, a gay couple, a foreign couple, and a couple of single people—that is, until something goes terribly awry. The award-winning 2007 film tells the story of a group of friends whose lives are forever changed after main character Lorenzo (played by Luca Argentero) is rushed to the hospital one night with a cerebral hemorrhage. Examining the psychological and interpersonal relationships of a close-knit group, Saturno Contro provides a wry and quirky look into how people react to grave situations.
