Carrie Brownstein Talks About Her First Love: Music

Millennials might not realize that Carrie Brownstein is more than just half of the Portlandia empire, she's the guitar goddess of one of the most-acclaimed bands of the '90s (Sleater-Kinney) and the only woman who appeared on Rolling Stone's 25 Most Underrated Guitarists in Rock history list, on which she was ranked #12.

After a 10-year hiatus, the riot grrrl trio of Corin Tucker (vocals/guitar), Carrie Brownstein (guitar/vocals) and Janet Weiss (drums) is back: older, wiser and just as badass. Their new album, No Cities To Love, (available January 19), was just awarded a 9/10 by NME.

Here's what Brownstein has said about her first love–music. (It's no secret her second love is Fred Armisen). Quotation above via sfbg.com.
