Cara Delevingne and Ashley Benson’s New Sex Bench Has an OC Connection

The film review I wrote last month on Her Smell mentioned in an aside that two cast members, Cara Delevingne and Ashley Benson, are a real-life couple.

I actually did not know that until I informed my not-yet-age-30 daughter that “Cara something that starts with a D” and someone from her beloved Pretty Little Liars co-star in Her Smell, and she let this dinosaur know that Anaheim Hills-raised Benson and UK-born Delevingne (a model/singer/actress/musician/style icon with more than 42 million Instagram followers!) are girlfriends.

Well, I figured that film review would be the last time I covered the cute couple until May 30, when I received an email from Ari Suss, who had been the subject of a profile I did for the OC People 2015 issue. 

The Adult Video News (AVN) Hall of Famer owns Huntington Beach-based XR LLC, which is the corporate umbrella of Extreme Restraints, the world’s largest retailer of fetish and bondage toys; Sex Toy Distributing, a wholesale division; and XR Brands, a renowned maker of niche adult toys comprised of 15 brands and 2,000 products.

Suss suggested I check out links to a couple gossip sites that featured photos of and brief write ups on Delevingne and Benson carrying a sex bench into their West Hollywood home. Why? I mean, other than … WOW!?! and I thought a potted plant was a cool house-warming gift.

Let’s back up: The media outlet that broke the story is the Daily Mail, with one of its patented provocative headlines: “Cara Delevingne and Ashley Benson carry £360 leather SEX BENCH complete with restraints as giggling girlfriends take extremely racy purchase into their LA home.”

Daily Mail sought an answer to the following: “It is unclear where Cara and Ashley picked up the raunchy item, but earlier they had fulfilled their domestic duties by popping into Target.”

I have not checked every gossip site to see if anyone revealed the retail outlet that serviced the couple, but I do know from where the Master Series Obedience Extreme Sex Bench originates, and it ain’t Tar-jay.

Daily Mail does deserve kudos for breaking this Earth-shattering news, but my personal favorite take actually came from Garage, which suggests, “Cara Delevingne and Ashley Benson’s $450 Leather Sex Bench Has Already Won #Pride, adding “And it’s only May!”
