Capitol Steps

After three sold-out shows, Capitol Steps returns to the Carpenter Center to dish out the latest on American politics through song and sketch. In 1981, this performance group was created by some bold Senate staffers who decided to satirize their very form of employment for entertainment. Although the troupe isn’t entirely made up of former Senate employees today, they do have 62 years of collective House and Senate staff experience. From Bill Clinton’s indiscretion with Monica Lewinsky to Dick Cheney’s hunting incident, the cast considers nothing off limits in its hilarious rundown of political headlines. Both Democrats and Republicans can enjoy the satirical humor of Capitol Steps—and it's perfect timing for some post-election commentary.
