So you want to get your 420 on this weekend? Here’s a list of herbal-centric events happening in SoCal that’ll immerse you in the blossoming, smoky community. Just remember: You must be at least 21-years-old to attend these events (unless stated otherwise) and have a valid doctors recommendation if it involves medicating. Oh, and don’t medicate and drive, please!

Here’s the weekend through budding lenses:

Green Room Friday Night Karaoke

The Green Team is throwing a wild karaoke party that blends all things smoke and good jams. Expect open mic laughs, hookah, drinks, a 420 friendly environment and appetizers. Bring your own cannabis and warm up your vocal chords!

Friday Night Sesh: 420 Nurses

This event takes place every Friday and is focused on bringing lots of quality meds to those in attendance. You can expect to enjoy medicated and non-medicated munchies, meet the people behind your favorite canna-products and smoke with the 420 nurses. The vibe is community oriented and you only have to be 18-years-old to attend– obviously a doctors recommendation is required.

Cannabis Cooking Experience

Join L.A. Cannabis Chefs and Happy Hippy Co. for an in-depth, hands on 2.5 hour class, detailing basic and advanced cannabis culinary techniques. Learn different methods of infusion and how to perfect your cannabis cooking skills and dosages, whether you’re an edibles expert, or it’s your first time in the canna-kitchen. You can enjoy your tasty treats in class while learning, and there is plenty of time to ask questions, so you can take your new-found skills back home with you! The event is BYOC and has limited space. Must be 21-years-old to attend.

Drinkin,’ Smokin,’ & West Coastin

The Think Tank is putting together a monthlong series of art and events. You can expect these performances: “Ray-Mart” a satirical Ktown liquor store by Ray Young Chu; Ash Santos interactive Pizza Box Police Chase RC car track; Interactive LED “turf war” mirror chamber by Stephen Linsley with support from Nanoleaf; Telephone wire “cloud of sneakers” installation with support from Vans and custom sneakers by Sink or Swim; ’90s newsreel tube TV lounge by Danny Heidner; Low rider mural by Teddy Kelly; Bloody Gums “LA Is Still Trying to Kill Me” project gallery; Func.ART Glass Gallery; a DMV Dive Bar by Dino Nama and Danny Heidner; and Nina Palomba sculptural painting installation. Expect good vibes, weird times and a good night.

Sushi + Doobie Rolling Workshop

If you like rolling things, this event is for you. Mary Jane University High Dining is hosting a delicious workshop taught by Chef Victor Miller, an OC sushi chef who transplanted from Seward, Alaska. This sushi master will guide you in the sophisticated art of cooking with cannabis as well as how to roll a doobie with premium flower from Hummingbird Medicinals. You’ll learn everything you need to know during this 2 hour, hands-on cannabis cooking class. There’ll be appetizers, an education on sushi history, including where to find it and how to know if fish is good, a lesson on dosing and choosing the right flower to pair with your meal. Expect to spend time hanging in the vape lounge, mingling with like minded thinkers and getting lifted.

Cannabis Enlightened

 Transcend this reality and elevate into a space of zen, love and light. This Sunday in Long Beach, the Queen Leaf Collective is sponsoring a medicated yoga session. With your ticket purchase, you will be able to partake in yoga, Reiki, mediation, sound bath sessions (with the option of aerial hammocks, which are still available by the way!) and cannabis products to compliment this holistic experience. There will be private angel card and Reiki readings available, too. Non-infused vegan food and drinks will be provided as well as a goody bag full of free samples from Cannabis infused vendors. A henna artist will be available to provide non-permanent/non painful artistic tattoos.
