California Printmakers

Printmaking has grown in popularity over the last six years, and this retrospective of leading California artists from the second half of the 20th Century examines some of the major influences of the genre including works from Wayne Theibaud, David Hockney, Ed Ruscha, and others. The exhibition showcases the history of printmaking in California spanning the 1960’s to the late 90’s with selections culled from the museum’s print holdings, as well as from local private collections, and serves as an anthology of California printmakers of the period. If you’re new to printmaking, come explore this visionary medium and learn about various techniques such as lithography, screen printing, etching, and more. If you’re already a fan, come revel in the artistry.

Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays-Sundays. Starts: Feb. 22. Continues through May 31, 2015
