George Washington Slept Here was Moss Hart and George Kaufman’s last marquee-crushing collaboration. After a decade of successes including You Can’t Take It With You and The Man Who Came Dinner, the duo closed out their relationship with a nutty farce about one man’s disastrous purchase of a house that, appropriately enough, George Washington may have slept in. Rife with over-the-top characters and goofy plot points, the play was even made into a film starring Jack Benny. Expect plenty of guffaws and maybe a few harrumphs as the mainstage’s enthusiastic crew makes a go at this wacky classic.
Saturdays, Sundays, 8 p.m.; Sundays, 2 p.m. Starts: Feb. 14. Continues through March 15, 2009
