Big Love

Big Love, by Charles Mee, is a fresh take on Greek drama. Although the play is partly based on what is believed to be the oldest extant play, The Suppliant Women by Aeschylus, the setting is very modern. Mee wanted to “See if it still spoke to the moment, and of course it does. It’s all about refugees and gender wars… anger and rage and heartache.” (Open Stages) Big Love was first produced at The Actors Theatre of Louisville in 2000. CSUF’s production will also feature professional actress Svetlana Efremova in the role of Bella/Eleanor.
