Burger A-Go-Go 2015 Lineup Announced

While women dominate the charts, especially in terms of pop music, festival bills are still dominated by men. The gender gap isn't happening because there aren't enough female-fronted acts — it's happening because rock & roll is still a boys' club that fears the power of a woman behind a guitar. A modern-day Lilith Fair may be the only way to level the playing field.

For the second year in a row, Fullerton's Burger Records has booked an all-star lineup of female-fronted acts that includes living legends like Kathleen Hanna and Kim Gordon, alongside younger garage rockers such as Cherry Glazerr.

The festival is headlined by Cat Power, U.K. pop star turned riot grrrl revivalist Kate Nash, the Julie Ruin (Kathleen Hanna's latest group), and Kim Gordon's new band Glitterbust, which includes Alex Knost of Tomorrow's Tulips.

Burger a-Go-Go 2 returns to the Observatory in Santa Ana on September 5 on two different stages. Bleached, Kimya Dawson, Peach Kelli Pop, Jessie Jones, Death Valley Girls, Cults, The Aquadolls, The Fly Traps, Feels and Summer Twins also join a diverse list of acts that prove it's not that hard for festivals to book more women.

Tickets for the all-ages Burger a-Go-Go 2 can be purchased here.
