Bruxie Is Yelp's No. 2 Restaurant of 2011 . . . for the Whole Country

We take a certain amount of homegrown pride to let you know Orange County's very own Bruxie took the No. 2 spot in Yelp's Most Popular U.S. Restaurants for 2011. Congratulations, Bruxie!

Well, Yelpers, Stick a Fork In It broke the news about Bruxie's real-deal Wisconsin frozen custard, and our readers probably learned about the waffle sandwiches before they heard about it on Yelp. Plus, we were first to report other important Bruxie news, such as the announcement of its second location. So you'll excuse us if we feel a territorial attachment to “our” Bruxie.

We can't claim any credit for Bruxie's success, as its universal
appeal is as obvious as Jennifer Aniston's recent naming as Men's Health's Hottest Woman of All Time. Some schmuck out there was Jen Aniston's first boyfriend, and in Bruxie's case, that schmuck is us.

How did Yelp arrive at its Top 10 list? “Rank was determined by how many people in the Yelp community have bookmarked the business in 2011, as well as combined with average star rating, total review count and total check-ins.”
