An alert from the Orange County Sheriff's Department mentions that hospitals near Orange were contacted but none reported Hansen having come in for treatment.

Friends and family feel it is very uncharacteristic of Hansen to just go up and missing like this, let alone go so long without contacting them by phone or email, according to the sheriff's department.

Hansen is Caucasian, 43 years old, 6-foot-1, 215 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He had a goatee and wore prescription glasses at the time of his disappearance.

UPDATE, NOV. 19, 5:13 P.M.: The San Bernardino County Coroner has confirmed the body of Todd Hansen was found in the open desert in the Lucerne Valley around 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

He is believed to have taken his own life, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

His pickup was nearby.
