Breaking Glass

While I was watching my daughter's swim lesson, your little boy knocked over my water cup with his toy truck. The cup fell to the ground and broke, and you immediately apologized. You offered to buy me a new one, asking how much I spent on the one that broke. It was no big deal, I told you; I have two kids, so I know these things happen. I honestly forgot all about the mishap before the next week's lesson. But you remembered, and as I sat in my usual spot, you rushed over with a bright orange cup. (“For the fall!”) Thank you for the reminder that there are still thoughtful people in the world.
