Birch Street Beer League

The realm of competitive beer drinking is hotly contested. Guzzlers and beer pongers from all over the world brag about their skills: the ability to chug das boot, to sink a ping-pong ball into a cup with blurred vision, or to flip a cup so perfectly it sticks like a golf ball on the green. But all across the globe, there is one event—some call it the Madison Square Garden of competitive drinking—true craftsmen or draftsmen hold above all else: Birch Street Beer League. Wednesdays at the Birch Street Bar, brave competitors gather for a night of “serious” drinking with an assortment of games that challenge even the master. They have beer pong tournaments, flip cup, a das boot chugging challenge, speed quarters, beer baseball, and other variations on games created by anonymous angels of cervesa. Come check out the excitement and find out how much you can remember.
$40 gets you drinks for the entire night.

Wednesdays, 8 p.m. Starts: Nov. 14. Continues through April 24, 2012
