Best Traffic Reporter

Nothing says rise and shine like Sig Alerts, chronic congestion on Interstate 5 toward LA and 91 East gridlock heading into OC. Fortunately, navigating the ins-and-outs of Southern California's weekday rat race is KABC-TV Channel 7 Morning News traffic reporter Alysha Del Valle. If her name and voice sound familiar, it's because she has made the media rounds over the years, originally giving commuters the good, the bad and the ugly of their daily grinds on comedian George Lopez's now-long-defunct LA-based morning radio show. In addition, Del Valle, an honors graduate from USC with a degree in communication, has hosted on SiTV's The Drop and LATV's Late Night, as well as working with Rick Dees and Ryan Seacrest on the airwaves. Now firmly situated in the Morning News team, she comes equipped with live Caltrans camera shots, traffic-tracker drive times and maps showing the intravenous freeway systems of the Southland in their various red, yellow and green states to help you get to your destination. From time to time, Del Valle also produces segments on local restaurants and the likes to mix it up. Hopefully, one day, we'll see her in the news-anchor chair, but for now, bad traffic has never looked so good in the morning time.
