The original owner had had enough; his longtime staff, Francisco and Mario, wanted to buy the beloved place, but the county stalled its approval for way too long. So the doors shut on Beach Cities Pizza. Decades of devoted pizza eaters and garlic-breadstick lovers and all-you-can-eat-spaghetti-Tuesday regulars were despondent. But now—jubilation! Because Beach Harbor Pizza is open, with proud owners Mario and Francisco somehow making it all even tastier than before. Phew.
