Last year, Al-Amir Bakery's original Anaheim location mysteriously burned down, and fans of its sphihas (Middle Eastern-style pizzas) wailed in disappointment. But Al-Amir returned bigger and better this year, just down the street. The same sphihas dominate: baked to order, containing fresh ingredients, and drawing in even-bigger crowds from the Little Arabia district. They're still settling in to their new digs, though, so the future for Al-Amir is just like its zaatar sphiha: zesty, simple, promising.
