Best Place to Watch Movies the Rest of the World Has Forgotten

Hidden near the back door of the Magoski Arts Colony is filmmaker Steve Elkins' projector. Once a week, he shows films: the esoterica of Stan Brakhage, Werner Herzog's luminous documentaries, the political provocations of Jean-Luc Godard. So why travel to Fullerton to sit on old furniture, drink a beer and watch the films with a bunch of hip types when you can rent/watch many of the films from Netflix? Because with Elkins at the helm, you're watching these fine films the way they're supposed to be viewed . . . with people. Smart people. And smart people plus fine films equals good conversation. What do you have against good conversation?
