Best Deep-Fried Dish

Being the county's first bánh bao specialist doesn't immediately put T.P. Bánh Bao #2 on the map. The steamed buns of bread filled with meat and sweets it's named after are already sold at most of Little Saigon's food-to-go shops and bakeries. But so far, only T.P. Bánh Bao #2 has the balls to deep-fry them, transforming the soft squishy domes into greaseless, golden-brown orbs, with a sweet outer crust that tastes like an old-fashioned cake doughnut—except with meat and other fillings in the middle.
