Best Bicycle Shop

It's a small shop, located in a little strip center that also hosts a vape store, but the stock constantly rotates, vintage bikes are bought and sold, and hard-to-find bike parts are sold and traded. But what really makes Newport Velo stand out from the bicycle superstores is the one-on-one service. Take what happened a few Sundays ago. Riding to the beach along the Santa Ana River Trail, a beach cruiser experienced a wobbly front wheel right at the PCH bridge. Upon arriving at Newport Velo on West Coast Highway, the chagrined cyclist was met by a shirtless, bleached-blond fellow in trunks who appeared to be late for the surf breaks. Instead, the shopkeeper immediately assessed the situation and performed a complete repair and tune-up on the ailing cruiser—for no charge. The repairman's knowledge and generosity so impressed two other riders in the party that they brought their bikes in the next weekend for tune-ups, for which the new customers for life gladly paid a reasonable fee. By the way, Orange County's Newport Velo is not to be confused with the Newport Velo Youth Cycling Club U.K., so don't trust Google.
