We're not kidding ourselves that there's not a lot to choose from in this category, but that doesn't do anything to lessen the validity of our art walks. Our pick for best this year is Fullerton's. It just celebrated its fourth birthday, and in that way, it's still apparent there's a long way to go. The show isn't nearly as organized as Santa Ana or Laguna Beach, but something about that makes it seem livelier and more honest. The hub of the art walk is the Magoski Arts Colony, a warehouse with floor-to-ceiling creative treasures, and it spills out into the entire downtown, where more than 10 businesses put on their own art shows. You could spend hours on the first Friday of every month perusing the galleries, then having dinner and drinks. The best part? Fullerton's art walk is so big and diverse there's something for the highbrow, the lowbrow and everyone in between, making it easier for the common man to invest in high-quality art without the high prices.
