Beethoven's Violin Concerto

Widely considered the greatest classical music composer of all time (sorry, awesome Bach and Mozart), Ludwig Van wrote timeless, positively indestructible symphonies, sonatas, piano music and ballet. His music is so powerful, in fact, that in popular culture he is found everywhere—bio film (Immortal Beloved), as cinematic MacGuffin (A Clockwork Orange), backing up some prehistoric man bone tossing (2001), and in that cute little St. Bernard movie. Oh. In any event, this German genius basically needs no introduction, except that you’ve probably never actually sat down and listened to one of his records. Go shake off your shame at this live version and let violinist James Ehnes get all up in your Romantic period. Well, you know what we mean.
