Awkward Commercial of the Day: Rebecca Black's Viral Monstrosity Tapped For Kohl's Black Friday Ad


Just when you thought you'd finally got Rebecca Black's musical aneurysm “Friday” out of your head, the most obnoxious store in the mall has tapped the most annoying song in history to try to convince you to go shopping on the most stressful day of the year. 

Apparently, Kohl's brilliant marketing team realized that the word “Friday” is part of the phrase “Black Friday” and decided to run with it in their new commercial.

Kohl's says: “You'll be singing this song every day until Black Friday. Guaranteed. Kohl's stores open at Midnight Thursday! Shop over 500 Early Bird Specials & earn $15 Kohl's Cash (yes, $15!) for every $50 you spend.”

With lyrics like “Black Friday, Black Friday / Something that rhymes with Friday” and closer “Can't get this darn song out of my head,” it's kind of cute, but sort of a half-year too late for maximal effect since the Internet sensation's “Friday” music video went viral in March. You can always count on Kohl's to be on top of the trends!
