Asian Pear Martini at OPAH

light-up bar top stretches around a whole side of the Irvine restaurant. The expansive indoor bar seating is exceeded in swanky-ness only by the heated outdoor patio; even during those colder nights, you can stay warm outside while sipping on a specialty Asian Pear martini.

The Asian Pear martini begins with honey lining the bottom of the glass, followed by a mixture of Smirnoff vodka, pear syrup and Kern's pear nectar. Topped with a pear slice garnish, this martini really does taste like the juice of a fresh Asian pear has just been squeezed into your glass; the sweetness of the syrup and juice leave only a hint of vodka in the flavor. Once you finish off most of the cocktail your mouth is hit with a sweet surprise–the honey pooled at the bottom of the glass. Those who do not prefer sweet cocktails should beware, for this is one of the sweetest drinks on OPAH's menu.

Visit OPAH during its happy hour to save $2 on the signature martinis, which are regularly priced at $9. Happy hour lasts from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
