Aloe Blacc Stays Current, In Illustrated Form

Aloe Blacc is the man… the man… the man. So much so that we put him on the cover of our annual Coachella issue. This soulful singer songwriter killed it on the first day of Coachella and will be performing today for Coachella weekend part II.

Blacc released a new version of Coca-Cola's World Cup anthem “The World is Ours” last week. The song features David Correy and original lyrics by Blacc.

“It was great to do a mash up between my song [“Hello World”] and David Correy's song,” Blacc told Billboard. “The message that I wanted to convey was oneness. I've been lucky enough to have my music accepted in countries all over the world. And everywhere I go I recognize music, sports entertainment being something that brings us all together. Football, soccer is something that makes us all one; its like a religion in a lot of places.”

Here's what the artist, whose sound is being dubbed a cross between Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye, had to say about staying current in the fast-paced music industry.
