Tony Ortega, editor of our sister paper, Village Voice, recently published an article featuring three mailers from the Church of Scientology, in which the movement promotes its efforts, and primes members to fork over money for the cause.
Lucky for us, one mailer promoted a conference in Los Angeles last weekend focused on making California an “Ideal state”, with photos of Ideal Orgs, including the future Orange County one at Sycamore and Fifth streets at the former Santa Ana Performing Arts and Event Center.

We assume the church has paid its water bill, but at this rate, some members of the Sea Org might finish their billion-year contracts before the new Ideal Org is complete.
I emailed church spokeswoman, Karin Pouw, to find out the time frame for the grand opening.
“Nothing final yet,” she said.
