…And proceeds to fondle and otherwise molest his patients? Switch
out the bar to an examining room and that's what the OC District
Attorney's office is alleging that David Hung Do, a Kaiser doctor who
worked in La Palma and Anaheim, did to three female patients between
June 2007 and July 2008. Do was arrested last Friday on charges that he
touched the female patients' breasts and vaginas beneath their clothing
while performing “routine” medical exams at Kaiser hospitals and urgent
care centers. The fondling had nothing to do with the
medical care they needed.
Although the DA's office says Do was arrested at his
Garden Grove home, he also has an address
listed in Riverside, according to the Medical Board of California. The board's site lists Do's license as current, and apparently he has no
record of past wrongdoing. But then again, this is the medical board,
and when it comes to informing the public, the board isn't always on top of their public disclosure game.

Do is being held on $100,000 bail and his arraignment date has not yet
been announced. He faces one year in jail if he's convicted. The last
doctor convicted of sexually assaulting a patient was
gynecologist Anthony Lee, of Villa Park. Lee pleaded guilty to lewd acts
on a child after he molested a 16-year-old teen while performing
another one of those “routine” medical exams on the teen in her bedroom in 2006. He was sentenced to three years in prison this past July and his license was revoked. As is typical with the med board, the update on his conviction is late: there's no information yet of his conviction in the public documents section of the website, only of the complaint filed against him in 2006.
