Minibosses

If the mention of Castlevania or Super Mario tickles your brain with bubbles of sweet reminiscence, then it’s time to dust off that little grey console and prepare to rock once again to the anthems of your adolescence. For ten years, the Arizona-based Minibosses have traveled far and wide, touting a powerful repertoire of elaborately crafted covers inspired by the melodies of NES video games. Their interpretations of classic themes from titles such as The Legend of Zelda have earned a cult following of self-proclaimed “Minibossies” as well as a featured segment on NPR’s All Things Considered. Their fantastical performances draw an eclectic mix of nostalgic normies, hardcore gamers and curious bystanders from all over the country to revel in sounds of Nintendo. So if you’re feeling adventurous, head out to Alex’s Bar for a night infused with high-flying guitar solos, cheap drinks and the legendary power of the Triforce.
