Supporting the arts is rarely on any politician’s agenda, so why not roast a few of them in order to do just that? Settle in for a night of puns and jabs aimed at Long Beach officials, played out radio-style by the Political Players, including George Deukmejian, Doug Haubert, Gigi Fusco Meese, Stacy Mungo, Michelle Molina, Doug Otto, Gloria Cordero, Victoria Bryan, John Morris, Al Austin, Lisa Ramelow, Rod Wilson, and Mitchell Nunn, with a script by LB Gazette’s Harry Saltzgaver dolled up by sound effects from “Foley Artist extraordinaire,” Art Levine. It’s a fancy-schmancy gig, too, with cuisine by the acclaimed Keesal, Young and Logan offices chef, and a host bar. Proceeds support the productions and programs of the Long Beach Playhouse, so show the arts some love – and fill up on $85 worth of booze. You’ll need it.
