Kelly Thomas, an unarmed mentally ill homeless man, was savagely beat to a pulp by six Fullerton police officers on July 5, 2011 and was taken off life support a few days later. Despite the fact ex-cops Manuel Ramos and Jay Cicinelli were found “not guilty” earlier this year, the community still gathered in Kelly's memory at the Kelly's Corner landmark in Downtown Fullerton.
