The Los Angeles Times reports that the list of finalists for the annual Restaurant Design Awards were announced this week.
The Los Angeles chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) narrowed it down to mostly LA-area restaurants including Roy Choi's A-Frame, designed by Sean Knibb; but it had a surprise finalist from OC in Sushi Noguchi of Yorba Linda, whose space was done by Poon Design of Beverly Hills.

The associate director of the AIA told The Times that the awards is starting to push out to recognize good work outside the boundaries of LA, which could perhaps mean more OC finalists from now on.
