Have you picked up OC Weekly's annual Summer Guide yet? It's on newsstands now. In it are all sorts of awesome food stories that fit our “Barely Legal” theme, from a guide to making your own absinthe to an inside look at OC's top-secret Hidden Dinner eat-easys.
For us Weeklings, the issue marks the start of summer, and what better way to celebrate the inauguration than with a night of tasty, boozy fun? OC Weekly's Summer Carnivale is happening this Saturday, June 2, at Bowlmor Lanes at The District in Tustin. From 8 to 11 p.m., there'll be live music and tastings from Bowlmor Lanes, Sapporo, Cayman Jack Ultra-Premium Margaritas, Blackmarket Bakery, RA Sushi, Bluewater Grill and JT Schmid's. Find more details about the event here.
Presale tickets are $10 (purchase them here) and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Miracles for Kids, an OC nonprofit that helps improve the lives of children with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
