When Garbo Talks!

In the 1920s, when film made that pivotal switch from silent to audible, director Mauritz Stiller saw something equally amazing in a teenage acting student named Greta Gustafsson, whom the world came to know as Greta Garbo. She became not only one of Hollywood’s first bombshells, but also its biggest star of the time. Written by Buddy Kaye and Mort Garson, When Garbo Talks! is an original musical making its world premiere on the International City Theatre stage. Full of comedy, tenderness and charming melodies, this jaunt through the golden age of Tinseltown would make Ms. Garbo herself crack a smile.

Tuesdays-Sundays, 8 p.m.; Sundays, 2 p.m. Starts: Oct. 15. Continues through Nov. 7, 2010
