Weezer's New Album Named 'Hurley' has Hurley On the Cover

Yup. For Weezer's upcoming eighth LP, actor Jorge Garcia, better known as Hurley from Lost, will be on the cover.
On Spinner, Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo says the album title came from the photo:
“We struggled super hard trying to come up with an album title, trying to find some kind of phrase that summed up the whole aesthetic behind the album: 'Heavy Mental,' 'Smaller Than Life.'”

Eventually, the band picked a “random word that doesn't really have anything to do with anything,” based off the vibe of Jorge Garcia's photo. Weezer also knew that if they didn't pick an album title, people would just refer to their eighth set as “the Hurley record,” so they just called it Hurley.

Apparently, Rivers Cuomo called Garcia over a month ago; a few weeks ago, he flew with up to Paso Robles for a Weezer show and got a JPG of the cover then.

Hurley will drop Sept. 14 on Epitaph–Weezer's first time on an indie.
