Weezer, Kiss, ZZ Top, Backstreet Boys: Music Cruises are the New Music Festivals

Who wants to run around in the heat from stage to stage just to watch a band? Now that fans are getting older, musicians are getting it right–trap fans in a boat and so everyone will have nothing better to do than watch your shows with the amenities of a casino, pool, and buffet tables. Weezer's doing it, the Backstreet Boys are doing it again, Bret Michael WAS doing it, Kiss has been doing it for years. Check out our list of the four best cruises you can go on this year after the jump. (Bret Michaels' Rock Your World Super Cruise was cancelled yesterday.)

The Weezer Cruise

 January 19 – 23, 2012

While Rivers doesn't seem all that excited to be ON A BOAT with a bunch of his alt rock friends and superfans (watch the promo above),  you can kick off your 2012 by sailing on Carnival Destiny with Weezer, Dinosaur Jr., Sebadoh, and a bunch of other '90s alt bands. The cruise starts in Miami and heads to Cozumel. It's like a
floating music festival where passengers have exclusive access to
two Weezer shows, including an outdoor sail-away concert. You'll even get to take a picture
with the band, and attend a question-and-answer session. Booking begins
on July 21. (Pre-sale begins on July 18, Monday). Fares
start at $799 per person.
