If you don't know anything about Buena Park duo, We Are/She Is, then you haven't been reading the print version of the Weekly where they were recently featured in our Locals Only section. Digital purists need not worry, here's the band's breakdown: Known for sweetly melodic, synth pop in the vein of Matt and Kim, We Are/She Is has had its song “Puzzles” featured on the Showtime reality series The Real L Word. Sporting a fiercely DIY work ethic, the band promoted itself by showing up to various gay pride events armed with a pair of headphones blaring their music. With the tenacity of newly saved heathens, the set about proselytizing their art to the masses, and picking up some true believers in the process. The gods of rock smiled upon them and they now hold the October band residency at Slidebar.
