Ways N Means Oyster House Opens In Orange in Old Spiros Spot

Shuck Oyster Bar at The OC Mix will no longer be the only oyster bar in OC.

While there's never been a shortage of places that serve oysters here (even before Shuck debuted), when Ways N Means Oyster House opens this Wednesday in the old Spiros spot near Old Towne Orange, it will be only the second restaurant that has decided to focus serving the raw delicacy, or at least use a name that suggests it does.

From a press release we received, it looks like Ways N Means will indeed offer seafood cocktails and towers, paired such things as cucumber cocktail sauce or pons mignonette, the seafood shucked from a centrally-located oyster bar; but there will also be shared plates like salmon rillettes and Guinness bread; crab cakes with cilantro, Meyer lemon, and celeriac remoulade; seared ahi tuna; wild salmon with red pepper couscous; steaks, fish, and lobster. Basically, it's going to be a seafood restaurant.

There's also talk of a bar that focuses on “vacation cocktails”, which looks to mean Mai Tais and daiquiris.
