A 60-year-old Anaheim man faces 45 years to life in state prison for allegedly picking up a developmentally disabled woman from a bus stop, driving her to a motel room and raping her.

The 30-year-old woman was sitting at an Anaheim bus stop Sunday morning when Roberts pulled up and offered a ride, according to the Orange County District Attorney's office (OCDA), which alleges he did not take her to her destination but the nearby Valencia
Inn, where he resides.
Inside the motel room, “Roberts is accused of removing all of Jane Doe's
clothes and sexually assaulting her as she cried and told him to stop,” reads an OCDA statement.
“Roberts is accused of kissing, digitally penetrating, orally copulating,
and raping Jane Doe.”
She managed to get out of the motel room and call 9-1-1. Anaheim Police investigated and arrested Roberts, who is now charged with one felony count each of rape of an incompetent person, sexual penetration by foreign object of an incompetent victim, and oral copulation of an incompetent person. Deputy District Attorney Jess Rodriguez was scheduled to ask the judge at arraignment in Santa Ana today that Roberts' bail be set at $1 million.
According to the OCDA, Roberts has four prior strike convictions from 2008 in Los Angeles County. The state database shows he was convicted of continuous sexual abuse of a child, assault with the intent to commit a sex offense and two counts of lewd acts on a child under 14.
