Vidal Quevedo Identified as Man Shot Dead Outside Santa Ana Apartments: Update

ORIGINAL POST, MAY 6, 10:07 A.M.: Details are sketchy, but a man was shot to death outside a Santa Ana apartment complex early this morning.

Reports of shots fired around 2:30 a.m. sent Santa Ana police officers to the City Gardens Apartments in the 2900 block of North Bristol Street.

It was outside the complex where cops found the unidentified man who later died at a local hospital.

He appeared to be in his 30s, Santa Ana Police Department Commander Enrique Esparza told City News Service.

UPDATE, MAY 6, 12:51 P.M.: The Santa Ana Police Department (SAPD) has identified the man shot outside City Gardens Apartments on North Bristol Street as Vidal Quevedo, 27, of Santa Ana.

“Witnesses heard 1-2 shots fired and two possible male suspects were observed running from the scene,” reads an SAPD update sent this afternoon.

Quevedo was found with a gunshot wound to the upper torso in the north alley/parking lot of the apartment complex. He died from his injuries at UCI Medical Center in Orange.
