ORIGINAL POST, APRIL 30, 8:08 A.M.: A 21-year-old man was sitting in the driver's seat of a white sedan that was filled with passengers and parked on Riverine Avenue near 10th Street in Santa Ana around 4:30 p.m. Friday. Another vehicle pulled alongside, several gunshots were fired, and the unidentified sedan driver was struck at least once. As the attacking vehicle sped off, two buddies pulled the driver out of the car and onto a nearby strip of grass, where he died.

The attacking vehicle sped off.

Santa Ana Police believe the shooting is related to a stabbing that happened about an hour earlier on West Halesworth Street. An unidentified male was attacked by a group of
people, suffered minor injuries and refused medical
treatment or to cooperate with investigators.

His attackers were members of a rival gang who were in the white sedan that was fired upon, police believe. But no one is really talking. Anyone who witnessed the shooting or can otherwise help investigators is asked to call 714.245.8648.
