UPDATE, MAY 31, 9:45 A.M.: When Dennis Rodman was ordered Tuesday by Family Court in Orange to pay child and spousal support and volunteer time to the community, he said, “It's all about the kids.”
Now, it's all about staying away from them, as well as his ex-wife, Michelle Moyer Rodman, who has taken out a restraining order against the NBA Hall of Famer, according to a published report.

City News Service reports that Family Court Commissioner Renee Wilson signed the temporary restraining order (TRO) Wednesday, and that Michelle Rodman's lawyers claim the former couple's custody and child support battle is far from over.
The reason the mother's attorney reportedly gives for the TRO filing is it's always “chaos” when Rodman is around his 44-year-old ex and their kids, who currently reside in her hometown of Costa Mesa.
The order prohibits 51-year-old Rodman from coming within 100 yards of Michelle
Rodman, their children and her adult daughter from
a previous relationship, pending a July 21 hearing where custody issues, support payments and a second contempt of court allegation against the former b-baller will be on the docket, according to the ex's attorney, Mary Ann Noiroux.
ORIGINAL POST, MAY 29, 1:59 P.M.: Family Court in Orange today sentenced former NBA freak Dennis Rodman to complete 104 hours
of community service, serve three years of informal probation and pay up current child and spousal support.
The Worm, formerly of Newport Beach, had been found guilty by Court Commissioner Barry Michaelson of four counts of contempt for failing to pay
child support. This essentially closes the divorce case filed in 2004 (*see update) by his ex-wife–the former Michelle Moyer of Costa Mesa–unless the keen rebounder tries to worm out again.
“My
suggestion is to use your talents as a motivator, as a fine, fine
athlete and as a fine person to assist others in need,” Michaelson told Rodman, according to an Associated Press report.
But, having claimed to be broke in his court filings, Rodman may be the one in need of a major assist. Michelle Rodman once claimed he owed her and their two children, ages 10 and 11, $800,000, and his child-support payments had been set at $50,000. They have since been re-calibrated to $4,500 a month.
Whatever the amount, the ruling did not bother the 51-year-old NBA Hall of Famer, who told Michaelson that he will probably satisfy the community service requirement by working with children near his new home in Florida.
“It's
all about the kids,” he reportedly remarked
after the hearing. “It does suck the fact that it had to come to this.”
Another hearing concerning outstanding issues raised in the case is set for June 22.
