UPDATE, FEB. 10, 3:31 P.M.: The president of the Association of Orange
County Deputy Sheriffs, which represents nearly 2,500 active and retired
deputies and district attorney investigators, issued a statement in
response to Deputy Jennifer Tamara McClain's arrest. “The allegations being made against one of our own are very serious,”
states Tom Dominguez. “It is my understanding the deputy cooperated
fully with investigators. We are confident that the investigation will
be thorough and we anticipate a fair and just outcome.”

ORIGINAL POST, FEB. 10, 1:54 P.M.: An Orange County sheriff's deputy who works at the Men's Central Jail in Santa Ana found herself on the other side of the cell last night when she was taken into custody for allegedly engaging in sex acts with an inmate.
Jennifer Tamara McClain, 29, of Long Beach, was arrested on suspicion of sexual activity with an inmate, booked into the Santa Ana Jail and later released on her own recognizance.
The five-year veteran of the force is accused of doing the deeds with the same inmate at the Sheriff's Department's Intake and
Release Center in the Men's Central Jail in November and December of last year. It's not yet clear if she had a relationship with the inmate before he was booked into the facility.
