[UPDATED with Arrest of Joseph Robert Suess:] Unidentified Man, OC Homicide No. 29: Stabbed in Anaheim Alley

ORIGINAL POST, AUG. 30, 9:10 A.M.: Anaheim Police received an anonymous call shortly after midnight today about a possible burglary in progress in the 800 block of North Zeyn
Street near Anaheim Boulevard.

Officers arrived shortly thereafter, but they did not find a burglar.

They found a dead man.

The body of the unidentified man lying in the east alley had sustained multiple stab wounds, according to police, who never did find any signs of a burglary.

Several vehicles investigators believe may be related to the fatal stabbing were towed for crime analysis. Meanwhile, anyone with information about what went down is asked to call Anaheim Police at 714.765.1900.

UPDATE, AUG. 31, 9:40 A.M.: Anaheim Police have not yet identified the man stabbed in an alley off North Zeyn
Street early Thursday, but a suspect has been named: 37-year-old Joseph Robert Suess.

The transient was booked on suspicion of murder late Thursday afternoon, according to Anaheim Police.

Court records show a man with the same name and birth date pleaded guilty to felony kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon
and attempted robbery charges in 1994, a felony assault with a deadly
weapon charge in 2001, a felony possession of a controlled substance
charge in 2006 and many misdemeanors over the years, reports the Orange County Register.
