UPDATE, MAY 9, 9:20 A.M.: The alarm that sent 20 firefighters and a Hazmat team to Cal State Fullerton this morning turned out to be a false alarm.
As a precaution, authorities had evacuated the area because the lab where the alarm went off around 6:45 a.m. has radioactive material inside.

ORIGINAL POST, MAY 9, 8:54 A.M.: Fullerton firefighters reponded this
morning to an alarm that went off inside a laboratory containing
radioactive materials at Cal State Fullerton.
The call came in at 6:45 a.m.
A Hazmat unit out of Anaheim also responded.
The Orange County Register quotes a fire official saying they expect to have the situation under control by 9 a.m.
