[UPDATED:] California Adventure's Twilight Zone Tower of Terror Becomes a Real Tower of Terror

UPDATE: More details from Disneyland and Anaheim Police (see below) . . .

Subject for your approval: it's the dark of night, and a young man fortified with hooch jokes around with friends on the way to an elevator in an elegant Hollywood hotel that has fallen into disrepair.

But he is unaware of impending horrors beyond those dreamed up by Imagineering Department minds. For our luckless chap has just crossed over into the Twilight Zone . . .

. . . Tower of Terror ride at Disney's California Adventure in Anaheim.

Actually, the dude did not cross over into the ride but fell off of it, sustaining minor injuries and turning the Tower of Terror into an actual Tower of Terror.

UPDATE: “The guest was standing in line with friends on a second-floor
platform when he climbed over a barrier to the area below and lost his
balance and fell approximately 25 feet,” reads a prepared statement from the Disney Resort.

Anaheim Police, who have deemed the incident an accident, say the 20-year-old joked to his buddies that it would be funny if someone fell just moments before he did just that.

Theme park guests were subjected to the fantasy-shattering sight of an ambulance rolling up to the attraction to strap the guy into a gurney before he was whisked to UCI Medical Center, where he was treated and released.

Officials confirm alcohol was a factor in the 10:30 p.m. mishap, but there was no confirmation that after the man woke up in the hospital everyone around him had changed.

You know, just like in that episode of The Twilight Zone.

Which one?

“All of them,” as Jerry Seinfeld joked in last night's 10:30 p.m. Seinfeld re-run.

Uh . . . 10:30? That was the time of the accident! Doo-doo, doo-doo, doo-doo, doo-doo . . .
