[UPDATE: Obama Says Yes We Can Have Beer!] Homebrewer Submits FOIA Request For White House Beer Recipe–And Gets A Response!

See update at the end of the post!

ORIGINAL POST: Power of the people! For all those who've been feeling like they'll never get a response out of their government, there's at least this.
Last week, it was reported that the White House had its own secret beer brewery, and that bottles of the house-made beer were stocked on Mr. Obama's tour bus. Thirsty homebrewers had to get their hands on the recipe–so they asked for it.
A Reddit user submitted a Freedom of Information Act request for the White House Honey Ale recipe, or any other White House brew, which include the White House Honey Porter and White House Honey Blonde Ale. A petition then called on the Obama administration to release recipe “in keeping with the brewing traditions of the founding fathers.”

Yesterday, the White House heard the call. Press Secretary Jay Carney tweeted that if the petition reaches reached the 25,000-signature threshold, they would release the recipe. So far, it has about 5,000 signatures.

Come on, beer fans. Make your voice heard! In beer we trust! In liberty and beer for all!
UPDATE: Obama says yes, we can have beer! Yesterday, to the shock of the interwebz,  POTUS participated in an “Ask Me Anything” session on Reddit, where users could ask him, well, anything. One user asked about the beer recipe, to which Obama replied, “It will be out soon! I can tell from first hand experience, it is tasty.” The president only responded to 10 out of 20,000-plus questions, meaning, of course, that beer is a top priority.
